Not only is this a love story of two people, but a wonderful story about Italy and their love for that country and their wish to start a new chapter there. It is a tribute to Ann's family and how they loved Allen even when he wasn't a part of their family and they knew he should be. I am reading this book for a second time to get the full impact of how they found each other again. Much of it is sad but the ending (or the new beginning) is just wonderful. So many people live out their lives stuck in "what is" instead of "what could be". This story is inspirational and sweet. Definitely a script for a "feel good" movie.
This book reminds us that even though things don't work out one way, they end up right another way. What a beautiful story of hope through struggle and unconditional love through hope! For anyone who believes that unconditional love and hope are united, Reunited When the Past Becomes A Present is a must read!
I was anxious to read this book so I downloaded it on my ASAP. I'm just such a sucker for a good love story,especially one that has such a happy ending. This book took me on an emotional roller coaster and I loved every minute. I was so addicted I couldn't put it down. This book makes you feel good about love and life!!!
This is the sweetest story of a real love, time and distance do not diminish. To me this story was so uplifting, love can strike at any time and especially if you're not working so hard to make it happen. When we are content with ourselves and not looking outward for someone to complete us, but a relationship comes along and adds another dimension of joy of our lives, this is "real" love. Congratulations to Ann and Alan for taking part in another adventure. I enjoyed Ann's daughter Leigh's take on their trip to Italy together too. I look forward to the next installment.

Lovely story about love and hope for a better future. Particularly liked the Afterword about a mother-daughter trip to Italy in search of family ancestry. Well done!
